Hello, I’m Rachel.
I am a writer, curator and editorial consultant.
I began my career working in film exhibition in the UK, before turning freelance in 2020.
I have served as a programme advisor for festivals including Sheffield DocFest, BFI London Film Festival, Alchemy Film & Arts and Aesthetica Short Film Festival. My writing on film and visual art has been published by outlets including Sight and Sound, Documentary Magazine, The Guardian, Frieze, Art Review, Art Monthly and BBC Culture. Between 2022 - 2026 I was the co-editor of online journal Cinema of Commoning.
I am the co-founder of Invisible Women, an archive activist feminist film collective which champions historic work by women and marginalised gender filmmakers through curation, events and editorial. Throught the collective I have presented screenings, exhibitions, lectures and workshops at festivals and arts institutions around the world.
I also work as a freelance script editor and editorial consultant, across features, shorts and documentary projects.
I am a voter for the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA), a member of both the European Film Academy and the International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas (CICAE), and an alumnus of Berlinale Talents.
